Facebook just announced its most significant site redesign in history

Earlier today, Facebook announced plans to roll out a complete redesign of its ever-popular website. While website overhauls are not uncommon, Facebook redesigns are particularly intriguing given how widely used the site is and how iconic the overall look and feel -- dominated by blue tones -- has become over the years.

As to what's changing, Facebook said that the blue menu bar that has been part of the site since the very beginning will be replaced by a cleaner interface with a more minimalist sensibility.

AutoDesk , the $27 billion software company best known for its architecture program AutoCAD, will acquired PlanGrid for $875 million, the company announced Tuesday. Founded in 2012, PlanGrid is a GV (formerly Google Ventures) and Sequoia Capital-backed construction productivity tool.  "At PlanGrid, we have a relentless focus on empowering construction workers to build as productively as possible," said Tracy Young, PlanGrid cofounder and CEO. "One of the first steps to improving construction productivity is the adoption of digital workflows with centralized data.
