New research shows that several species of African mole-rats have evolved an uncanny ability to ward off certain types of pain, including discomfort wrought by acid, chili peppers, and hot mustard. These insights could eventually lead to advanced pain-relieving therapies in humans.

AutoDesk , the $27 billion software company best known for its architecture program AutoCAD, will acquired PlanGrid for $875 million, the company announced Tuesday. Founded in 2012, PlanGrid is a GV (formerly Google Ventures) and Sequoia Capital-backed construction productivity tool.  "At PlanGrid, we have a relentless focus on empowering construction workers to build as productively as possible," said Tracy Young, PlanGrid cofounder and CEO. I tested it earlier this year and found it was a bit more expensive than I expected and not as quick as I had hoped. However, I used the service again recently while sick, and I now understand the value of the service when homebound or just too busy to go shopping. Amazon Prime Now is a service that promises a lot. Free delivery in two hours for a wide variety of seasonal goods, food staples, and every-day items sounds too good to be true. And when I tried it earlier this year, I wasn't completely sold on it.
